Coinhive uses Javascript to mine cryptocurrency in the browser, to monetize websites without the intrusiveness, tracking and data leakage of advertising.  It would be great to have a mod to integrate this with SMF forums.

The mod should include:

• a prompt for guests to opt-in

• a setting in member profile to enable/disable and adjust their own threads and throttle,

• no visible widget unless specifically required so that it runs silently in the background without taking up real estate.

Ideally, it would also:

• log the member's individual stats and show these in his profile,
• display all members' stats and global stats either in Admin dashboard or, perhaps better still, in ?action=stats,
• have permissions by membergroup,
• incorporate the Coinhive captcha (must be optional and configurable by admin).

I hope you'll consider it
