Hi, what type of video embedding does this support? Is it html 5 with flash fallback? I currently have the SMF Gallery with Video add on and it's not looking like that gallery is moving forward for mp4 support to help me rid my site of flash and gain better support for video on tablet devices and smart phones. Can this help me?

Using HTML5 of course! In that way you are totally flash free. This can totally help you

Just to be clear. Here is how this works:

1. The gallery uses HTML 5 to display the video/audio.

2. If the user does not have a browser that supports HTML5 then a link is going to be shown telling them that HTML5 is not supported by their browser and giving them the option to use flash, if he/she follows that link then the video/audio is going to be loaded using flash.

It works for both sides!

Images can be uploaded to an external hosting, like Imageshack, instead local a one?

If not, can be that a future feature?

I'd implement it, but at the moment only videos can be added from external websites (Vimeo, Youtube and Dailymotion). If you've something in mind you could let me know it.

This looks great but I'd really like to see a demo of this.

A demo of this is going to be available when I've time to fix the Demo site. I need to update all mods, clean up the boards, create some dummy content and set permissions property.

One more thing and I believe it was asked above. For the images, at the current state of this mod they are uploaded directly to the site server? Are you able to link images from an external source like this:

Yes, they are uploaded to the server. I really don't think that is a big issue, images aren't that big and you can even have membergroups quota to prevent abuse of the system.

great this sounds really good. Of course im dying to see a demo first. One other question. Can I store my videos in my site root behind the public_html to avoid direct linking? I've found that with smf gallery and the video addon mod that when i server side link protection the gallery script can't play the videos. I run a subscription based site that has tutorial videos and need to help keep them as secure as possible.

As long as permissions are set and it goes inside the public_html folder.
