Pre-Sale Questions / Re: install a new theme??
May 13, 2015, 10:07:01 PM
Yes, because most MODs make edits to Themes, so you would just have to add the Theme edits manually, or uninstall then reinstall your MODs

Pre-Sale Questions / Re: Themes and mods

It really depends on your knowledge of how mods work when they are installed.  If you understand how files get edited when MODs are installed, you would just make those edits to the files of the NEW theme you add.  I had about 60 MODs installed on my site before adding the responsive themes from here, and didn't have to go through the uninstall reinstall process for every single one.

MOD that make edits to the /Themes/default/"FILE NAMES"  would just have to be made for the same files in the new theme you add.  Typically is mostly deals with files like index.template.php , BoardIndex.template ,  Display.template , etc ... and theme specific images have to be ported over and css file edits.  It's work, but if you know what you're doing isn't too demanding.

You crazy, Nibogo!  What an amazing surprise.  I was just talking with my staff about the social groups MOD, and was contemplatying which version to get, but with 30% off, no doubt going for the copyright removed version.  Thanx so much for this surprise!

Will what work in 2.0.9?  Could you have made your question any more vague?

Site Discussion / Can't change my theme

Not sure if it's located somewhere else, but when I goto my Look & Layout option under my Profile, I don't see the option to change my theme for this forum.

Quote from: aura on August 16, 2014, 12:35:08 PMIf i went with that, is it allowed to do things like change the new/old posts with another image? Im kinda fond of my buttons.

Ya, just replace the image.  Or if you use the custom board icons mod for images for specific boards, it works as well.

Main News / [New Product] Re: SMFPacks Shoutbox PRO!!!

Oh, ok, sounds nice.  Looking at the preview images, the only real addition that would be ideal, for now, is to have a memberlist (like the "who is chatting" button) but have it a static side block.  I may try and dabble with this myself, going to go ahead and purchase and see.

I sunk in about $140 so far into prochatrooms and it just doesn't attempt to do anything you want to, as far as integration goes.  The support is non-existent there, too.  So, just researching for alternatives.

I just want to ask if it is any way possible to perhaps integrate a chat room into this MOD sometime in the future?  Ajax is very tedious to get working, and many of the other integrated chat rooms have become outdated.  It's a personal preference of myself and members to have a chat room and not a shoutbox.  But everything that comes with this shoutbox and it's smf integration is wonderful.  I do think if you added a chatroom "module" of some sorts it would really get even more attention as many of us that used ajax chat for smf are looking for easy and simpler alternatives.  Even if there's a price to have this done, custom made for me, please let me know. :)

Pre-Sale Questions / Re: Mentions Pro

Quote from: KungFuJoe on April 10, 2014, 08:26:05 PMHave you seen or heard of any issues with affecting the performance of the site? That would be my biggest concern.

I honestly don't see any way this would cause any site instability in performance. I see you have Likes MOD, just think of Mentions just like that. Where Likes bar in posts show members names (mentions will do the same adding names as links to profile where mentioned), you get a PM/Alert when Liked (same as mentions) ,... this pretty much does the same; but mentioning members in a post rather than "liking" the post.

Just my take from it while looking over the Mod Info page.

Hello,

I'm interested in your SMF Likes Pro Mod. Looking at your preview picture it looks very nice. I currently use Like Posts 1.3.1 from Joker which is not bad at all but is missing some features like top stats etc.

I tried to see how your mod works so browsed to some topics here on the forum where fellow members clicked it enough times to show the clickable "other like this" at the end.

When I click it to see all who liked, text on the whole page suddenly gets really small.

I think thats just from this theme, because it uses really tiny text in some cases (because it converts to mobile viewing, and the popup box probably tricks it into thinking its on a small screen.) Swap to the Laguna theme and you'll see it doesn't shrink the text.

QuoteAnother question: In user profiles, is it possible to see not only the total of all likes received, but also the total of all likes given?

As you know its not a feature, but not sure if it could be custom made.

Quoteand final question: We use default karma system on our forum. Is it possible to import the karma totals into the Likes Pro totals after installing your mod?

There is a conversion tool, I'm not sure if its for the "thank you mod" or "karma". The thing is, Karma is for members only where you raise THEIR karma value, whereas Likes is for posts/topics, specifically. So karma wouldn't reflect on what Likes does, as thank you mod does, reason the conversion tool was made for it.

Quote from: Petter on December 07, 2013, 03:58:18 PM4. Is the fixed header menu easy to customize?

In all honesty, I think the "Header" for the responsive themes needs to have its own menu editor of some sort ( http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3310 ). I have to make changes to menu links in subs.php to make the drop downs work better for the responsive themes, but when I do this, it also affects the buttons on my original themes which messes them up. Plus, with it having it's own menu editor for the header, forum owners have the option to use both menus ( or the option to remove the original menu_template), as the original poster is requesting. Would make it much simpler. If these were the only themes our forums used then, yeah, it'd be ideal; but we have to still have the option for members to use our original themes, too.

Also, the post buttons that appear when hovered. I'm getting mixed reviews from users testing. some love it, some are not fond of it. The only option I have is to make 2 copies of the theme, one with and one without ... UNLESS ... you could integrate an option so this is controlled by members in their "Look & Layout" options, and not just the overall theme option for all users :)
